(Buuel, Luis) (1900-1983), îäèí èç êðóïíåéøèõ ðåæèññåðîâ â èñòîðèè ìèðîâîãî êèíî. Ðîäèëñÿ 22 ôåâðàëÿ 1900 â ãîðîäå Êàëàíäà (Èñïàíèÿ).  1917 ïîñòóïèë â Ìàäðèäñêèé óíèâåðñèòåò. Åãî êèíåìàòîãðàôè÷åñêàÿ êàðüåðà íà÷àëàñü â 1920-å ãîäû.  1925 ïðèåõàë â Ïàðèæ, ãäå âñêîðå ñîâìåñòíî ñ Äàëè ñíÿë ôèëüìû Àíäàëóçñêèé ïåñ (Un Chien Andalou, 1928) è Çîëîòîé âåê (L'Age d'Or). Ñ ýòèìè êàðòèíàìè â åãî òâîð÷åñòâå óòâåðäèëñÿ îáðàçíûé ìèð ñþððåàëèñòè÷åñêèõ ñíîâ.
 1930-å ãîäû, ñïàñàÿñü îò ïðåñëåäîâàíèé ôàøèñòñêîãî ðåæèìà, Áóíüþýëü ýìèãðèðîâàë â ÑØÀ.  1932-1947 îí íå ïîñòàâèë íè îäíîé èãðîâîé ïîëíîìåòðàæíîé êàðòèíû. Îäíàêî â 1947 ñ ïåðååçäîì â Ìåêñèêó â òâîð÷åñòâå Áóíþýëÿ íà÷àëñÿ íîâûé ýòàï. Ìåæäóíàðîäíîå ïðèçíàíèå ïðèøëî ê íåìó ïîñëå ôèëüìà Çàáûòûå (Los olvidados, 1950) - ïðîíçèòåëüíî-æåñòîêîãî ðàññêàçà î ìîëîäåæíîé ïðåñòóïíîñòè, ñíÿòîãî â ìàíåðå èòàëüÿíñêîãî íåîðåàëèçìà.
Êðîìå Àíäàëóçñêîãî ïñà è Çàáûòûõ, ê îñíîâíûì ôèëüìàì Áóíþýëÿ îòíîñÿòñÿ Ðîáèíçîí Êðóçî (Robinson Crusoe, 1952), Îí (El, 1953), Ïðåñòóïíàÿ æèçíü Àð÷èáàëüäî äå ëà Êðóçà (The Criminal Life of Archibaldo de la Cruz, 1955), Íàçàðèí (Nazarin, 1959), Âèðèäèàíà (Viridiana, 1961), Àíãåë-èñòðåáèòåëü (The Exterminating Angel, 1962), Äíåâíèê ãîðíè÷íîé (The Diary of a Chambermaid, 1964), Ñèìåîí-ñòîëïíèê (Simon of the Desert, 1965), Äíåâíàÿ êðàñàâèöà (Belle de Jour, 1966), Ìëå÷íûé ïóòü (The Milky Way, 1969), Òðèñòàíà (Tristana, 1970), Ñêðîìíîå îáàÿíèå áóðæóàçèè (The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, 1972) è Ýòîò ñìóòíûé îáúåêò æåëàíèÿ (That Obscure Object of Desire, 1977).
